— A little about us —

The agency began in the 1930s by Clarence L. Birkey. The first Pekin Insurance agent in Champaign County, IL, Clarence ran the agency from is rural home. On April 1, 1978, Clarence sold the agency to his nephew, Kenneth J. Hieser. Like his predecessor, Ken ran the agency from his rural home until February 2006, at which time Ken’s daughter Valerie (Hieser) Rogers joined the agency and the agency office was opened in downtown Fisher, IL.

With retirement in sight for Ken, the agency once again changed hands and was purchased by a Fisher native, Joe Wier, on January 1, 2018. With new ownership and keeping to the long tradition of the Hieser name, the agency name was changed from Kenneth J. Hieser Insurance to Hieser Insurance Agency, LLC.

Joe and Valerie continue to offer clients coverage for personal, farm, business and life insurance needs.

Joe Wier

After graduating from Illinois State University Joe worked in the grain industry and as an ag lender at community banks before entering insurance. Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children as well as fishing, hunting and camping.

Valerie Rogers

After college Valerie worked in seed certification before becoming an insurance agent. When she is not at the insurance office Val can be found farming with her husband or relaxing at home and enjoying a good book.
